Small but grand, and with suitably excellent views of Lake Pichola, this palace was built by Maharana Fateh Singh at the turn of the 20th century. The suites are elegantly furnished with period furniture (some of it was once used by the royal family), heavy drapes, and brass fixtures. Pros: in the midst of the action—it's right next to the City Palace. Cons: very expensive, standard rooms are luxurious, but lack the main palace's sense of history.
