Dera Dundlod Kila Review

In the heart of the Shekhawati region, this Heritage Hotel was built in 1750 and is still owned by the descendants of the former thakur (landowner). Surrounded by a moat, it has a mix of Moghul and Rajput architecture. Inside, the stunning Diwan-i-Khas ("hall of private audience") has original wall frescoes, European-style portraits, Louis XIV furniture, and a well-stocked library. The clean, simple bedrooms have painted walls. Horse safaris (and camel and jeep trips) are available.
