The luxurious hotel in Jaisalmer blends French interior design with historic Marwari touches. The entranceway once belonged to a 16th-century haveli from the fort. Standard rooms are Western, with contemporary furnishings; suites are far more extravagant, with frescoes and antique beds with pure silver bedposts. The restaurant, Sonal, serves à la carte Indian, Chinese, and Continental food. The buffet is good but expensive.
