The cheerful, colorful rooms, with dark ochre-colored carpets, in this centrally located five-story hotel are above-average. The bathrooms could be cleaner, however. The simple, airy lobby opens out onto a small patch of lawn. Opt for a room with a view of the Bibi-ka-Maqbara, and check to see if your room is quiet enough. The hotel runs has a back-up generator because of frequent power cuts, but when the normal electricity disappears the elevators don't function. Pros: well located, city's top Chinese restaurant is here, cheap. Cons: slightly seedy, sparse furniture, no generator for elevators, rooms cleanliness lacking.
