Once the home of Nepal royalty, this bungalow-hotel has old-style class, and is probably the most interesting place to stay in Pune. Popular with Osho wallahs (devotees), it's on a quiet street in the area of Koregaon Park. The more expensive air-conditioned studio rooms, renovated in 2007, are spacious with a contemporary look and a rich sepia tiles; they face green lawns and have an attached kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. Regular rooms are basic and small with a no-frills bathrooms (shower only) but very clean. Alcohol and meat are not permitted in the hotel. Off-season discounts are available April through September. Pros: tranquil rooms in a garden environment, in the prettiest neighborhood of Pune. Cons: tad expensive, only 16 air-conditioned rooms that get booked quick; need to book in advance.
