Next door to its rival, the Welcomgroup Rama International, this five-story marble hotel is surrounded by sweeping lawns, well-kept flower beds, and towering trees alive with singing birds. Filled with brass goddesses, marble elephants, wood carvings, and other Indian antiques, the hotel is decorated in that cluttered Indian-elegance look. The slightly gloomy rooms have an Indian feel, with local furnishings, red accents, and garden-view windows. Don't miss a dip in the pool, where you can imbibe mid-swim at the bar at the shallow end. Pros: nice view of sweeping lawns, hotel restaurant serves interesting food. Cons: not good value for money, gloomy rooms.
