The standards of the legendary Moti Mahal of Delhi, known for the runaway popularity of its classic and plentiful Punjabi fare, have been reasonably well replicated in this branch, inside the upscale Nariman Point Inox cinema complex. The naans are hand tossed in front of you and lavishly topped with butter. The seekh (minced lamb) kebabs, lasooni (garlic) kebabs, and paneer tikkas are crisp and khasta (the right kind of soft). As for the chicken and mutton dishes, they're also well prepared, although they sometimes come with a little too masala; try the murg bemisal (tandoori chicken cooked in minced chicken and dal ghost (dal cooked with mutton). The Indian-boudoir decor—bead curtains, curtained alcoves, dark furniture—is a touch downbeat. Service is good.
