Owner and chef Moshe Shek, a Bombay Jew, worked in London and Israel before returning to India to open his own restaurant in 2004. Soon his a European-style café with dark-wood furniture and big glass windows become all the rage. The café offers some of the best international food in Mumbai—pastas in creamy sauces, eggplant roulade, crusty cheese garlic bread (they bake their own breads and rolls), Israeli stuffed chicken, hearty soups, and the highly recommended char-grilled rawas (Indian salmon). A large delicatessen counter, overflowing with luscious cakes and cheese, occupies the back wall. There's seating outside on the patio, too. The restaurant also offers a selection of wines. Smaller branches of the restaurant have opened in the Kala Ghoda Fabindia in Fort and the Crossword bookstore at Kemps Corner.
