Horse-and-Buggy Rides

For a quick tour of Mumbai's illuminated sights by night, hop in one of the horse-drawn buggies parked at Nariman Point, next to the Hilton Towers, at the northern end of Marine Drive, or at the Gateway of India. Neither the carriages nor the horses are in particularly good shape, let alone elegant, but if you don't require luxury this can be an enjoyable jaunt. A spin from the Gateway of India to Churchgate and back, taking in key sights on the way, takes about an hour and should cost not much more than Rs. 300 (settle the price ahead of time).
