Unless otherwise noted, hotels have air-conditioning, room TVs, and operate on the European meal plan (no meals included). Better hotels have foreign-exchange facilities, and most have rooms with bathrooms that have tubs. Some luxury hotels have exclusive floors with special privileges or facilities for the business traveler. Kolkata's top few hotels are fine establishments that meet international standards and then some. An exceptionally high luxury tax of approximately 20% is added to your bill.
