The Tower House Review

Converted from an interesting 17th-century house, this hotel, directly opposite the Chinese Fishing Nets, strikes the right balance between providing modern amenities and retaining the integrity of the historic building. Stately colonial pillars and arched domes add to the old-world charm of the heritage property, and the scalloped wooden ceiling of the lobby has an appropriately maritime appearance—history relates that boats used to be brought in on the high tide and stowed in the stable and dry dock of the house. Rooms are large and most have four-poster beds and spacious bathrooms.
