Kadavu Review

One of the first swank, world-class riverside resorts in the Calicut area, Kadavu signaled Malabar's foray into tourism. You enter the lobby under a traditional mandapam, a wood-frame canopy supported by pillars. A fountain spouts from the large lotus pool behind the lobby, which is flanked by the wings of the hotel. The courtyard opens onto an enormous swimming pool, from which steps descend to riverfront cottages. Rooms are large and have with bay windows; cottages also have balconies screened by coconut palms. Plans are underway to build another 138 rooms by 2008.
