The main building of this tranquil, verdant resort is an 1891 plantation house, built by the son of an English missionary. Its large rooms open onto broad verandas, and overlook a small lagoon where you can canoe or pedal-boat. Guest quarters are in the main house, in freestanding cottages, or in stationary houseboats. The terrace is a lovely place to relax with a glass of lime juice. Vembanad Lake is a short boat ride away down a woodsy canal. Twelve of the cottages are new (2004) and have views of the lake.
