Set between a mountain peak and a tea plantation in Chinnakanal, this large, family-oriented resort has guest quarters in the green-roofed main building, where a large statue of a Kathakali dancer presides, or in hillside cottages. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with wood floors and elegant furnishings; deluxe rooms also have entrancing views and are equipped with microwaves and some dishes. Cottages are large—a one-bedroom can sleep four—yet still homey. They're probably the more attractive option. This is a very large hotel, so expect to be part of a giant crowd in high season. The activity center offers everything from video games to rappelling, and the two restaurants serve excellent North Indian food as well as other types of cuisine.
