The former summer retreat of the royal family of Shekhupura has 10 Victorian rooms in a large period bungalow, set in a garden about 5 km (3 mi) from the center of town in Chhotta Shimla. The spacious rooms have a 1920s air, with antique pieces, wood floors, fireplaces, and balconies. Located well away from the madness of the Mall, Springfields has lovely views of the valley. A one-way taxi ride to the Mall costs Rs. 100.
