The cheapest but least-comfortable way to reach Goa from Bombay over land is by bus, a grueling 17-hour trip if you're lucky, which will take you to the bus station in Panaji. Make this a last resort if you haven't planned several weeks ahead and booked a flight or train. Buses within Goa are cheap, frequent, and overcrowded—be prepared to fight your way on and off.
