You're likely to be the only foreigner in this family favorite—that is if you can find it. The restaurant may be drab and hidden away on the second floor of an anonymous block on the commercial 18th June Road, but it's certainly worth looking for. Goan specialties, including grilled kingfish, pomfret recheiado (marinated in a blend of spices, then grilled), and chicken xacuti (coconut and tamarind curry), are prepared wonderfully and without any concession to international tolerance levels for spice. With lines going out the door, especially at lunch, service is quick and sometimes rushed amid the din.
