Divar Island

The ferry jetty for Divar Island, Chorao's twin in the Mandovi, is in Old Goa. Protected by the river and somewhat isolated from mainstream Goa, Divar makes for a very pleasant day out. Piedade, its main village, is serene. The Church of Our Lady of Compassion, on a hill, is in good condition and worth a visit; it also has excellent views of the river and the countryside.
