The fashionable crowd clamours to get into this Delhi cousin of Mumbai's acclaimed Saltwater Grill, where the food is delicious and the drinks are desirable. Order anything with "smoke" in the name—from the smokehouse chicken (two perfectly cooked smoked chicken breasts served with impeccably seasoned green beans and roasted potatoes) to the smoked apple and rosemary pie. The award-winning smoked melon martini defies words and the smoked apple mojito is even better. Unlike most see-and-be-seen places, the service is unpretentious and friendly. The space, accented with contemporary comic book panels on blood-red walls and a gleaming chrome staircase leading to the upper level, feels industrial. It's odd, but it works. For those who turn up without reservations, management keeps some tables aside (but expect a long wait). The generous fruit and cheese spread at the bar helps dull the hunger pangs.
