Taj Palace Review

Facilities are top-notch in this giant, boomerang-shaped business hotel. The teak-paneled business center provides the online Knight-Ridder service and laptops for hire, the health club is amply outfitted, the beauty salon has a range of treatments, and the outdoor pool overlooks manicured lawns. There's even a putting green. Giant traditional lanterns serve as chandeliers in the sprawling marble lobby, but the rest of the building is Western, designed for corporate convenience. Half the rooms face the pool and a swath of greenery; the rest have city views.

    Although slightly outside of the city, this hotel is in the safest and best area of Delhi. If you plan to have a driver or car while you're here, Taj Palace is an excellent choice. The rooms are very clean and include many amenities. They have added a new upscale restaurant called Blue Ginger, Vietnamese cuisine (reasonably priced with our generous main course of crab meat, vegetables and glass noodles at 600Rp). It was the best Vietnamese food we've ever had. The service was wonderful and the ambiance even better, as the waiters do not hover over your table as you eat.
