No, the name isn't Italian; it refers to Baluchistan, part of present-day Pakistan. Tucked away in Hauz Khas Deer Park, this kabab house serves some very good barbecue dishes. The building is glass on three sides, the better to enjoy the greenery; stone floors, cast-iron furniture, and traditional dress complete the lush environment. The amazing victuals include nawabi kesri kabab (chicken marinated in a saffron mixture, stuffed with chopped chicken, and grilled), murg potli (marinated chicken breast wrapped around minced mutton and served flambéed), and mewa paneer tukra (soft cheese stuffed with nuts, currants, and mushrooms, marinated in cream and grilled). Kababs are served all day; other dishes are not served between 3:30 and 6. Unfortunately, service can be extraordinarily slow and poorly informed.
