The formal Taipan is the finest Chinese restaurant in Delhi. The food is authentic, luscious, and artfully presented, and the view from the top of the Oberoi—over the Delhi Golf Course toward the high-rise buildings of Connaught Place—is grand. The menu highlights Cantonese and Szechuan cooking, including salt-and-pepper prawns, minced prawns with asparagus, Calcutta beckti fish in a nonya (spicy lemon) chilli sauce, and various duck dishes. The best-loved house specialty is dim sum, available in a daily fixed-price lunch—reserve in advance for this feast.
