$$, Connaught Place
Fodor's Review:
About 1 km ( 1/2 mi) from Connaught Place, this spiffy mid-size hotel is close to the center of things yet far enough away from the hubbub. The cream-and-rust lobby is large yet cozy, with a few wooden beams overhead, and filled with sunlight in late afternoon. Guest rooms are small, but they're attractively decorated with jewel-tone bedspreads and watercolors of Delhi monuments. Rooms on the east side directly overlook a field-hockey stadium, which is more appealing than it sounds. The bar is a soothing sea green, and dinner is accompanied by live ghazals (Urdu-language love songs) every night but Tuesday. Discounts of up to 30% can be negotiated between April and August.
