Fodor's Review:
Expect to find Calcutta's chic populating this restaurant, which is part of a national chain. Though the dining room is large, grand mirrors give the illusion of even more space, and the furniture is minimalist but comfortable. The Szechuan menu is extensive. Opt for the seafood platter or the chicken in a hot garlic sauce. Attentive service and valet parking make for a posh evening.

Same old, Same old

Went to Mainland China when it first opened 4 years or so ago. Came back August 2007 to see since everyone has been praising it. Sooo.. Service is still slow and clunky. They were out of eggplant (plentiful in market) and bamboo shoots (!?!?!) so first 2 veg plates were not available. 2 Treasures, Prawns Hubei and "Quick duck with greens" all came with the usual gloppy sauce. Ingredients were a cut above other restaurants but not preparation. Music started out nice Chinese classical and then switched to loud 70s and 80s western pop/rock. Horrible, like being in a Cafe Coffee Day not a "posh" restaurant. Cannot being to recommend to anyone who appreciates food at all....
