Ambassador

$$$, Churchgate

Fodor's Review:

Once an apartment house, this nine-story 1940s hotel in the heart of Bombay is less sleek in service and appearance than its south Bombay counterparts, but has more of an old-fashioned feel. Plus it's a good value. Rooms are reasonably large and furnished in a functional modern style, each with the Ambassador chain's signature brass knocker on its door. Opt for a road-view room. India's first revolving restaurant crowns the hotel -- it offers stunning views over the city and the Arabian Sea, and great Far Eastern food.
