Yindu Hotel (Yín dū jiǔdiàn) Review

Xinjiang's finest hotel, the Yindu is testament to the influx of cash that has transformed Ürümqi over the past decade. The reception area is inviting, and rooms have great city views and smart decor. The main drawback is that it's a couple of miles northwest of the city center. You may also be put off by the window between the shower and the bed, which the staff explain is "for your wedding night."
