Fodor's Review

On the banks of the river in the southern part of the city, Elephant Trunk Hill takes its name from a rock formation arching into the water like the trunk of an elephant. Nearby is a grotto covered in poetic inscriptions inspired by the beauty of the place, some by the greatest poets of the Song Dynasty.

Guilin's Logo

Elephant Trunk Hill is a neat rock formation which actually looks like an elephant drinking from the Li River and it is located at the junction of the Li and Yang Rivers. In the distance, it looked to me that there was another elephant drinking water.everywhere in Guilinthe formations in the rock/limestone seem to looks like something or someone . Perhaps the rivers currents have caused this slow but beautiful erosion here at Elephant Trunk Hill.

It sure does help to have a good imagination and be sure to bring you camera with SD and battery back-ups! Elephant Trunk Hill park is not large, but it's the logo of Guilin.
