Village Retreat (Luómǎ jiàrì yòuzi shānzhuāng) Review

In Shi Ban Qiao, a village around 20 minutes walking from Yangshuo's center, sits one of the town's more eccentric hotels. Previously owned by a Beijing millionnaire, the Louis XIV furniture and taps may seem a bit kitsch, but the quiet rural location and the karst formations visible from the bedroom windows make up for much. The restaurant is one of Yangshuo's better dining options and food can be brought up to a rentable rooftop hot tub for a romantic sunset. A free minivan commutes to the town four times a day.
