Fuli

Fodor's Review:

About 8 km (5 mi) southeast of Yangshuo sits Fuli, a Ming Dynasty town built on the river's northern banks. Fuli has narrow, winding cobblestone streets and a number of ancient temples worth exploring. This village is where you'll find the Peng Family Painted Scroll Factory (55 Fuli Ing Bei Jie. 0773/894-2416), a family-run shop that's been producing handmade scrolls and painted fans for generations. You'll find these for sale in Yangshuo for two or three times the price you can get them for here.
