A Typical Traditional Architecture of the Dong Minority

The wooden drum tower is one of the three traditional architectures of the Dong minority. It is totally made of wood without any metals or concret. A drum is usuallyput on the top, hence the name of the tower. It plays a important role in the Dong minority as the symble, the meeting place as well as entertaining place. The oldest drum tower now standing in Guizhou is Zengcong Drum Tower. But there are some other drum towers worthy visiting.
