Guiyang

Safety and Precautions

As in most other Chinese cities, unprovoked violent crime against tourists is exceedingly rare. The largest threat to personal safety in Guiyang is probably the frenetic traffic. Use the city's numerous pedestrian tunnels whenever possible, and never expect car or electric scooter drivers to follow traffic rules or exercise sound judgment. As when traveling anywhere, be careful with your valuables and stay vigilant for pickpockets and bag snatchers.
