When to Go to Sichuan and Chongqing
Chengdu and eastern Sichuan are hot and humid, with temperatures around 35° to 50°F in winter and 75° to 85°F in summer. Chongqing is known for its broiling summer temperatures—sometimes over 100°F. The western plateau is cold but intensely sunny (bring sunscreen and sunglasses). In winter temperatures drop to -15°F. Summers are around 65°F.
