Safety and Precautions

The biggest threats here are the unpredictable weather on top of the mountain and the Tibetan macaques that inhabit its slopes. Bring warm clothes and enough money to seek shelter at the mountaintop hotel, and don't approach the monkeys too closely or let them gather around you in groups. Also, be careful of falls or twisted ankles on the slippery stone staircases that run up the mountain.
