Fodor's Review

Private rooms, tasteful decoration, and unusual ingredients set one of Chengdu's most upscale hotpot restaurants apart from the numerous other joints that crowd the city. Diners order boiling pots of clear broth or fiery spicy-numb broth in which to cook exotic ingredients such as asparagus (seasonal), wild Yunnan mushrooms, and—for the adventurous—goose intestines. Of course, the usual hotpot goodies are also available, including shaved beef and mutton and a range

of veggies and tofus. Waiters are attentive, but don't speak much English. Room fees range from Y100 for a room that accommodates up to five people to Y300 for a room that fits more than 20.
