Pan-Asian ingredients imbued with Sichuanese flavors and presented in the style of European haute cuisine are Shangxi's specialty: it's a pricey but worthwhile splurge. Housed in a building on the recently redeveloped historic Zhai Xiangzi (Narrow Alley), dining areas are ranged around a beautiful stone courtyard with trees and a koi pond. Try crispy shredded rabbit, "fish fragrance" lobster balls, or a wild-greens salad. The menu is in English with photos.
