Pudong can be an intimidating concrete jungle, with little respite in sight. If you're looking for refreshment on your Pudong safari, try Cloud 9 on the 87th floor of the Hyatt. Be aware, this is not a cheap lounge—there is a dress code, but the view is spectacular. Kick back and drink in the city laid out beneath you, while nibbling tasty Asian-inspired tapas and snacks.

Blame it on the name - this bar struck me as more 'aspirational' than exclusive. Not sure what kind of dress code the review was speaking of - the night we visited, it was packed with sweaty tourists in sundresses and Birkenstocks. No jacket or cocktail dress required (silly us). After coming up through the Hyatt's lobby w/ the multi-story ceiling and big open windows, and the tall atrium in the middle of the 3 surrounding restaurants, it was a bit hard to appreciate the dark, cigar-choked, caged-in with supporting beams, Cloud 9. Were I one of the men earnestly trying to impress their dates, sure. But one brisk stroll around the bar was sufficient. One plus - this looks to be the closest one could get to the top of the SWFC (aka Bottle Opener) without actually being in it.

An exclusive venue, great views of shanghai ( especially before lights are turned off ) special occasion venue for quiet romantic time.. worth every penny
