Mediterranean Café

Mediterranean Café Review

Buried in the east end of town, the Med is a hidden gem. Small and unpretentious, it is one of the few places in town serving authentic Mediterranean food. With highlights of genuine bagels (you'll be hard-pressed to find them elsewhere in the city), kosher-deli foods, feta, and falafel, this is a perfect lunch destination. We recommend the pita falafel—hot, green, and crunchy, served with an Israeli salad—and the latkes, which are perfectly fried potato pancakes served with sour cream.

I loved this restaurant. The cuisine and calm, casual atmosphere are a delightful change of pace from everything else in town. There is free wi-fi (bring your own laptop or PDA), the service is friendly and the food is really good. Also, it's fun to tell your friends that there is great falafel in Shanghai!
