Laris Review

The signature restaurant of star Australian chef David Laris, this is one of the few Bund restaurants with the owner/chef in residence. The innovative Continental-inspired cuisine is good and well presented, though service can sometimes slip. Any trip to Laris, or its adjoining Vault Bar, is best crowned with a visit to the Chocolate Room, where some of Shanghai's finest chocolate creations will assault your waistline.

The decor was not bad at all. And it's a good location on the Bund. Wute we had an awful waiter - so arrogant and not helpful at all! The food was ok, not great. Considering the high price, though, it should be better. And portions were miniscule. Definitely the restaurant is too hyped, just as the Fodor's Review says. You guys got it right on this one.
