Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel (Hóngqiáo xǐláidēng shànghǎi tàipíngyáng dà fàndiàn) Review

Still the go-to hotel for savvy business travelers staying in Hongqiao, this Japanese-managed property has four club floors, an indoor swimming pool, and golf privileges at Shanghai International Golf Club. Oriental rugs, antique pottery, folding screens, and wooden masks and statues—all chosen by the hotel's general manager on his travels—add personal touches that cannot be found at any other hotels. Spacious standard rooms include large desks with ergonomic chairs, and the grand rooms have colorful carpets and overstuffed chairs in the separate bed and sitting rooms. A staircase sweeps you from the formal lobby up to the second floor and the exceptional deli. Giovanni's serves Italian food as impressive as its views from atop the 27th floor.
