Huangpu Park

Huangpu Park Review

The local government paved over what once was a lovely green garden to create this park. During colonial times Chinese could not enter the park; a sign at the entrance allegedly said, "no dogs or chinese allowed." From its location at the junction of Suzhou Creek and the Huangpu River, it offers views of both sides of the river. Beneath the park's Memorial of the Heroes of the People obelisk is a sweeping relief of China's liberation.
