Fodor's Review

Tucked away inside the Jinjiang Hotel, this is a quiet, upmarket Indian restaurant whose prices would shock anyone who's eaten at Indian restaurants in London or New York. That said, the food is excellent and the service, for Shanghai, is quite good. Don't miss the murgh malai kebab (tandoori chicken marinated in cheese and yogurt), or the palak aloo (spinach with potatoes) or the filling dal makhani (lentil curry). Outfitted with mirrors, Indian artwork, lots of carved wood, and Chinese characters dangling from the ceiling, the restaurant is ingeniously designed to show the route of Buddhism from India to China.
