Fodor's Review

With palm trees, babbling fountains, and golden-hued marble as warm as sunshine, the lobby of the Four Seasons is an elegant oasis in bustling downtown Puxi. This 37-story luxury hotel caters to a largely business clientele, but it's also a great getaway for leisure travelers because of the impeccable service, the glass-enclosed indoor pool, and the spa offering traditional treatments. The spacious rooms—just 12 to 15 per floor—are decorated in a chic gold palette.

Though a bit dated, rooms are well-appinted, with flat-screen TVs, DVD/CD players, safes big enough for laptops, and marble showers and tubs. Nanjing Road and the Shanghai Museum are within a 10-minute walk, and metro line 2 is just down the block.
