Fodor's Review:
Although it targets business travelers, 88 Xintiandi is a shopper's and gourmand's delight. The boutique hotel is in the heart of Xintiandi, its balconies overlooking the top-dollar shops and restaurants below. The rooms, all mini- or full-size suites with kitchens, are likewise upscale. Beds are elevated on a central, gauze-curtained platform; sitting areas have large TVs and DVD players. Stylish wood screens accent the rooms and common areas. Deluxe rooms and the executive lounge overlook man-made Lake Taipingqiao, and guests have access to the comprehensive Alexander City Club gym next door. Renovations will be complete by the end of 2007 and will add such amenities as plasma TVs, DVD players, foot massage machines, printers, scanners, and juicers to all rooms.
