Zhuhai

Zhuhai Review

Bordering Macau, and a little over an hour away by ferry from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, most people don't see Zhuhai as a major destination. The city does, however, have a nice long coastline and many small offshore islands. Lover's Road, a 20-km (12½-mile) stretch of road hugging the shoreline, is Zhuhai's signature attraction, as beachside drives are rare in China. The road leads to the Macau Crossing, and has enough bars and restaurants to draw a steady crowd of Macau partygoers. Near the Macau border, across from the bus station, is Yingbin Street, a popular shopping area. Cheap seafood restaurants stay open well after midnight and, thanks to a variety of hawkers, street musicians, and food stalls, it makes for a fascinating evening stroll.
