The hotel is currently under renovation and as of press time the staff said they don't have a set date as to when it will reopen. This four-story establishment has an attractive colonial facade that blends well with the surrounding area. The bright interior surrounds an inner courtyard. Standard rooms are tastefully decorated with Republic-era furniture made of dark wood, though the suites seem more cluttered. If possible, get a room facing Shamian Avenue, the quiet, tree-lined
street that runs the length of the island. The hotel includes entertainment including a mahjong room, billiard ball room and a spacious library. There is a karaoke bar and a lovely backyard garden.
