Clube Militar de Macau (The Macau Military Club)

Clube Militar de Macau (The Macau Military Club) Review

Founded in 1870 as a private military club, the stately pink-and-white structure was restored in 1995 and reopened as a restaurant. The languid Old World atmosphere perfectly complements the extensive list of traditional Portuguese dishes, such as bacalhau dourado ("golden cod," a specialty of fried cod and potatoes), African chicken, and arroz de marisco (flavored rice and seafood). Leave room for dessert—the options include Portuguese sweet rice pudding with mango, warm chestnut tart, and coconut ice cream with caramelized pineapple.
