8½ Otto e Mezzo Review
Spearheaded by chef Umberto Bombana (the ex-Ritz Carlton chef, often lauded as "the best Italian chef in Asia"), this glitzy space delivers everything it promises. The service is hotel grade, the wine list is extensive, and the interior is nothing less than glamorous. Most importantly, the authentic Italian food here is magnificent. Chef Bombana's famed handmade pastas live up to the hype; the burrata cheese ravioli in black-olive and eggplant sauce being particularly stellar. Mains are solid—the beef tongue and beef cheek is excellently executed, but seafood options are even better. If you can't make up your mind, the degustation menu offers a neat sampling of Bombana's best.
