10 Chancery Lane Gallery

10 Chancery Lane Gallery Review

A visit here takes you behind the historic Central Police Station, where walls facing the gallery's distinctive loft-like space are still topped by broken glass, a common security measure. Since it opened in 2000, the white-walled gallery has focused on emerging artists from all over the world, as well as more established names, among them local expatriate painter Simon Birch and Beijing-based performance artist Li Wei. The gallery recently screened a multimedia installation by Australian film director Baz Lurhmann, and owner-curator Katie de Tilly also has a particularly keen eye for photography.
