One of Hong Kong's best-known, locally based designers, Barney Cheng creates haute couture designs and prêt-à-porter collections, infusing his glam, often sequined, pieces with wit. When the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., hosted an exhibition titled "The New China Chic," Cheng was invited to display his works alongside those by the likes of Vera Wang and Anna Sui. It's pretty much only open during office hours though, so call ahead for a weekend appointment.
