This chain restaurant right next to Hunan Garden serves good Shanghainese fare at reasonable prices. Pigeon in wine sauce is an excellent appetizer, and the honey-ham and crispy bean-curd skin wrapped in soft bread is delicious and authentic. Be sure to try their tofu dumplings, which require advanced ordering. The Shanghai-style doughnut on the dessert menu is a deep-fried sweet ball whipped up with fluffy egg whites and stuffed with red bean and banana. The set lunch, which includes an appetizer, a main dish, dim sum of your choice, and free dessert, is a great value.
